Once you select a new device, you’ll be asked to tell us a bit about your trade-in. Next, Assurant will give you an estimated value of your trade-in. Once Assurant has received your device, they will determine the final value. This value is applied as a credit on your next bill. Learn more about device credit.

On any Spectrum Mobile plan, you’ll receive the value of your trade-in toward your new device. When you open a new line, you will also get an additional $100 towards your new device.

We currently accept Apple, Samsung, Google, LG, Motorola, HTC, Kyocera and Alcatel devices if they meet the trade-in standards. We cannot accept trade-ins for smartwatches at this time.

We partner with Assurant to complete all trade-ins. You can track the status of your trade-in by accessing Assurant’s trade-in portal after mailing your device. The link will be emailed after you complete your Spectrum device purchase.

To qualify for our trade-in program, your device must meet the following requirements:

  • It's paid in full
  • It's able to turn on
  • It has no liquid damage
  • It has been restored to factory settings

You can upgrade your device and activate it on an existing line of Spectrum Mobile service if you've paid for your current device in full or if you qualify for an early upgrade. Learn more.

Anytime Upgrade is included with Unlimited Plus plans and allows you to upgrade your phone in nearly any condition, as long as it’s operable and can be repaired, reconditioned or refurbished, regardless of how much you have left on your payment plan.

If you’re already an Unlimited Plus customer, you can take advantage of Anytime Upgrade at any time. If you’re upgrading to Unlimited Plus from an Unlimited or By the Gig plan, there is a 30-day waiting period before you can upgrade your phone using Anytime Upgrade.
