RURAL CONSTRUCTION INITIATIVE

Empowering Opportunity from Coast to Coast

Launched in 2021, Spectrum's multi-year Rural Construction Initiative will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver multi-gigabit speed Internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

Spectrum is the #1 rural Internet provider in the nation.

Bridging the Digital Divide

Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • What is the timeline for completion?

This is a multiyear project across 24 states and as a result there are no firm completion dates at this time. Construction is scheduled to begin in some states by late 2021. The entire buildout is estimated to be completed by 2027 with some states finalizing construction into early 2028.

  • What products will be included?

Spectrum's full suite of connectivity services, including Internet, WiFi, TV, Voice and Mobile are available across its service area and Spectrum maintains simple and transparent residential retail rates that are consistent across its footprint, including in locations reached by its Rural Construction Initiative. Spectrum does not have annual contracts for any residential services, which means customers are free to change service providers at any time, with no risk of early termination fees.
