How to Bring Your Own Device

Follow these simple steps to bring your devices to Spectrum Mobile and keep your current phone number.

Add a SIM Card Kit to your cart or select eSim activation and choose your Mobile data plan (or complete at a Spectrum Mobile store).

Unlock + Activate

Contact your current mobile provider to unlock your device. Follow the SIM Card Kit instructions to activate your device, transfer your phone number and install the SIM card. To activate eSIM-enabled devices, visit our online portal.

Many phones are compatible with Spectrum Mobile. We currently support Apple, Samsung and Google phones. LG phones previously purchased from Spectrum Mobile are also supported.

Yes, you can keep your phone number when switching to Spectrum Mobile. We accept phone numbers from all carriers. Do not cancel service with your current carrier until you’ve successfully transferred your phone number to Spectrum Mobile.

To transfer your phone number to Spectrum Mobile, you’ll need account information from your previous carrier, including your account number and a transfer PIN. During the activation process, it’s important that you have your previous account information available. Please ensure you enter your information correctly. One Unlimited Mobile line is included for a full year with Spectrum Internet. You can add additional Unlimited lines for $30/month each or upgrade to Unlimited Plus for $40/month per additional line. Yes. Spectrum Mobile supports cellular-enabled tablets that have been transferred to the Spectrum Mobile network. To bring your own tablet to Spectrum Mobile, choose a data plan and we’ll send you a free SIM card.

Yes. When you switch to Spectrum Mobile, you will receive a new SIM card in the mail. Some eSIM-capable devices allow you to use one physical SIM card and one eSIM or two eSIMs at the same time. If your device supports eSim, you can activate your account at your convenience.

Spectrum Mobile currently supports the following eSIM devices: iPhone 12 series to iPhone 16 series. Spectrum will eventually support additional eSIM device manufacturers.

IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. Your device’s IMEI is a unique number that identifies the device on a mobile network. An IMEI consists of 15 digits and is assigned to every GSM phone. CDMA devices have an MEID number. Dual-SIM phones have two IMEI numbers.

For most devices, the IMEI number can be located by following the steps below.

  • From your device’s home screen, select “Settings”
  • Select “General.”
  • Select “About.”
  • Scroll down to the IMEI, ESN or MEID number.
